The Margery Newport Trophy (the former Division 1) took place on the Old Course at Gog Magog on Tuesday 30th April.. the event was a "sell out" with a waiting list too!.. the day dawned sunny and dry which was a bonus after the cold wet weather we have been having of late
The morning round was Stroke Play with prizes for the best gross and also best nett. The best gross with 77 went to last years winner Jackie Ewing from Links GC and the best nett went to Gail Johnson from March GC with an impressive 71. The afternoon Foursomes event went to the wire with 4 pairs on 36 so count back decided the eventual winners who were Sarah Greenall and Marcella Tuttle from Links...
