The Cambs and Hunts Junior Girls team travelled to The Bedford Golf Club to defend the trophy won for the first time last year
The Cambs and Hunts Junior Girls team travelled to The Bedford Golf Club to defend the trophy won for the first time last year. The competition involved teams of six players from Bedfordshire, Cambs & Hunts, Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk playing in different handicap bands. Cambs and Hunts were represented in the (0-9) category by Ella Mason (Ely City), (10-15) by Ellie Gamble (Ely City) and Olivia Dyson (Barkway Park), (16-24) by Sienna Mason (Ely City) and Olivia Wynne (Kingsway) and (25-30) by Lila-Belle Nacca (Bourn). The first five players were all making their debuts in this event.
Ella Mason Captained the team for the day and lead from the front with a solid score of 34 pts. She was followed by Ellie Gamble, who was called in late on Saturday evening. Ellie put together a good score of 29 pts.
Olivia Dyson battled hard to record a score of 33 pts. Sienna Mason was in good form and came home with an excellent score of 36 pts. Kingsway’s Olivia Wynne was in good form and recorded a score of 32 pts. Coming up at the rear was Lila-Belle Nacca the only survivor from last year’s team. Lila Belle played some stunning golf to record a magnificent score of 44 pts.
With the four best scores counting the Cambs and Hunts team score was 147 points, giving them victory over host County Bedfordshire by 5 pts.
Lila-Belle Nacca also picked up the prize for the best overall score of the competition.
